Round 1 Breakout Options
1. Cultivating a BGMC Culture (Carlo Orlando)
Location: BA16
BGMC is the Missions education program for kids in the Assemblies of God. Join us to learn the importance of BGMC, how to start/get kids engaged, fundraising ideas, curriculum you can use and more!
(For kids workers)
2. Bible Engagement Project (Jaime Vagle, Rose Vasquez)
Location: B9
In a time where culture is bombarding with agendas, it is imperative to teach a Biblical foundation to our kids. The Bible Engagement Project is a free, Assemblies of God curriculum that combines Bible learning, fun and excitement so kids are engaged in the lessons and in Scripture. 4. Communicating and Equipping Parents as a NextGen Worker (Matt Burkey)
Location: B6
Parents are the NUMBER 1 disciple makers of our students, but how do we equip them, partner with them, or create space for parents to own the discipleship journey of their student? In this session Pastor Matt Burkey will equip the breakout on practical ways we can practically equip the parents in our churches on a regular basis.
(For kids and youth workers)
5. Preaching and Communicating (John Christian Pra)
Location: Building A (Youth Room)
CLICK FOR NOTES
We know that students learning to be biblically literate is KEY to their life with Jesus, but how do we unpack God’s word in a way that not only teaches or preaches but equips them with practical ways to live for Jesus and to read God’s word on their own? In this session we will examine how all of us can become better communicators of the TRUTH in God’s word, and practically equip students to pursue Jesus and explore God’s word on their own. One of our own youth pastors, John Christian Pra, will help equip our pastors on preaching and communicating.
(For kids, youth, and young adult workers)
6. Cultivating a Speed the Light Culture (Justin Bechtel)
Location: BA17
Where our treasure is, our heart is also. If we want students to value God’s Kingdom and share His heart, creating a space where students can learn to give financially to missions and be part of what God is doing both locally and across the world is essential. This breakout will examine practical steps every youth ministry can take to begin to establish and grow a STL culture.
(For youth workers)
7. Young Adult Group Q&R Discussion (Aaron Lodato/Max Adams)
Location: Gym
We are so excited to for the first time offer a breakout JUST for young adult leaders. In this breakout you will get to meet other YA leaders from around the state and have relevant discussions and prayer focused on getting every young adult group healthy and every young adult community being missional. Our very own Aaron Lodato and Max Adams will be leading the discussions on healthy young adult groups.
(For young adult workers)
8. Learning to Disciple as a Parent (Jay Mooney)
Location: Sanctuary
Parents have A LOT to navigate in this culture. A LOT. How does a parent create spaces in their homes and busy schedules to ensure that disciple making is a STRONG priority??? In this breakout we will be examining how parents can become disciple makers, and what steps they can take to start. We are so excited to have Jay Mooney, our national NextGen Director, lead this breakout.
(For parents)
Round 2 Breakout Options
1. Recruiting, Retaining, and Team Building (Andy Lynn)
Location: Joy Center
Does your ministry or team need volunteers? How do I find the right people to join our team? This breakout will help NextGen Leaders or workers learn how to recruit, develop, and retain team members. God has not just called us to do ministry but equip and develop people; let’s explore together what God’s plan and vision could be for your ministry. Pastor Andy Lynn will share practical steps every ministry can take to change the focus from doing ministry to developing people.
