1. What do you do to relax?
As often as I can, I like to get creative with my electric guitars, pedal board and looper. Love the violin, too, but I don’t relax much playing that.
2. Any other hobbies?
Yes, I have a pretty serious sports card and autograph collection, and I love to hike or bike the Great Outdoors.
3. If you were not superintendent, what would you be doing?
No question, I would be pastoring a local church as long as the Lord gave me strength. And, if that door was closed, I would just like to teach and write the rest of my life.
4. Do you have a favorite sports team?
Well, so as not to cause division, let me reach way back to the ’69 World Champion Mets. My cousins took me to Shea Stadium when I was just a kid. Here’s me and Cleon Jones a few years later.
5. Describe your worst meal.
Well, it was served somewhere overseas. And, it took my host pastor two years to tell me what I actually had eaten . . . let’s just leave it at that.
6. What is your dream car?
OK, let’s take this for a ride. I think that would have to be a 1960-62 Corvette convertible. Then again, I don’t mind driving my 1965 Mustang.
7. What’s your favorite book of the Bible and favorite Scripture verse?
I have loved studying and preaching through the Book of Revelation. My all-time favorite verses are Isaiah 43:1b-2.
